Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence, MA is seeking volunteers

The Cor Unum Meal Center arose from the vision of a group of men and women in South Lawrence, MA, who were moved by compassion to respond concretely to the growing needs of the hungry in their city. These men and women have become part of the long tradition of the provision of care for the least fortunate in Lawrence through St. Patrick Parish.

Construction of the Cor Unum Meal Center was completed in the fall of 2006, with more than $500,000 raised to begin the operations. The doors of the Cor Unum Meal Center were opened to welcome guests on September 30, 2006.

We served more than 100,00 meals in our first year of operation, and with your help, hope to serve 200,000 in 2008. 

Volunteering Opportunities

The Cor Unum Meal Center relies on the assistance of volunteers to function. As a volunteer, you will not be an "extra helper" but rather a vital element of our ability to serve the many poor in our community.

Volunteers are asked to participate in an orientation to learn more about the Cor Unum Meal Center and the many volunteer opportunities. We serve two meals a day -- breakfast and lunch -- 365 days a year.
