So I have been looking for a purple necklace, and when I find one it's the wrong purple. It's that or theres a big chunk of somethingoranother hanging off of it and I think yuck! So I decided to burrow around in my arts and crafts bin and find my beads. I find greens and blues and everything else. I wonder what happened to make me not do this stuff anymore or as much. So anyways I get the color I want and start beading away. I stopped 10mins later. I put enough on the make a single strand necklace but what I want to make is the ones with about ten strands (this is using the tiny beads). So far it seems like im going to have this project one day at a time.

Am I the only one that starts something and in the middle wonder what the heck you were thinking. I mean I will be happy with the result when Im done but it's the process thats killing me.

Lol, no I am the same. I started a child's sweater 2 sizes too big, 2 years ago, so that it might be ready by this year for the recipient... But it still isn't finished! I just get things done in fits in starts, but it's fun anyway, right? :) ~Gen

Hahaha well im sure you could find someone to give it to once your done, I know your whole point in starting it was to give it to that person but you also don't want your efforts to go to waste.

It's winter and people seem to knit more so you might see someone and get reminded of your project at home and get encouragement to finish, I do when I see a nice necklace.

Me and my friend wanted to learn how to knit one day, but I think I would be doing the start and stop thing with that to. :)

I've done quite a lot of Native American crafts, especially relating to different Boy Scout activities. You can often find books on the crafts in scouting supply stores. A pow wow is a great place to buy supplies as well as to get advice and ideas.

Here is a link that lists upcoming pow wows from all over the place:

THE BOSTON KNIT OUT & CROCHET NEEDS YOU!
Have you enjoyed going to the Knit Out in years past? It is a great event and really brings us together as a knitting community. Well, events like this don’t happen by themselves and, unfortunately, those of us who have been putting on the Knit Out for the last 2-3 years are very worn out and many of us have had to step back from the event. We are looking for lots of new people with the energy and drive to make this year’s Boston Knit Out & Crochet Too the best one ever! If you’d like to step up and get involved, the next planning board meeting is Monday, June 4th at the Masonic Grand Commandery in Boston, corner of Boylston and Tremont (the blue mosaic building), at 6:30 p.m. If you can’t make the meeting, there’s still plenty to do. Drop an email to our new president Patience Boyd at info@bostonknitout.com and she will put you to work!

Sharon- sorry. I never got your msg in December. Jan/Feb is slow for the craft fair circuit anyway.

Have you had any luck lately?

I think there's typically a Castleberry Faire in Wilmington this coming weekend- it tends to be slow in April, but you should check it out by googling the Castleberry Faire website and tell Terry that you're a prospective crafter. There are different categories and sometimes you might get locked out. For instance, jewelry always fills up, and there's little turnover. Not sure about wreaths.

Hope that helps. Again, sorry I'm 3 months slow.

I am thinking about organizing a home-made blanket drive for Pine Street Inn's new permanent home for homeless men and women.

Do you think anyone might be interested in that? Doe House will have 5 efficiency apartments and 15 single rooms that will given to folks who were chronically homeless. Once Doe House is renovated, I think it would be really nice to welcome the new occupants with a homemade blanket in their room.
