So I joined up... Now what? There's a lot you can do here. I hope
this is a forum where we can share the ways we use the site. I'd
especially love stuff like: 'Hey, I'm doing
this...' or 'Did you know you
could do
this...?', but even 'How do you do
this...?' or 'Is there a better way to do
this...?'

Tricks needed + -
I was wondering how I could:
a) Send a personal email to every new member in my group?
b) Where did the email that used to come when someone joined your group gone??
As always thanks for any help!!

How to... + -
How do you make an event private so that only one group can view it?
Thanks,

RE: How to... + -
After you click 'Add Event' and choose 'Private Parrty', there is an option at the bottom to 'Post' to 2 groups. I'm waiting confirmation, but that sholud keep it *private* for those group members...

It wasn't the first time. (I wonder why... People also stop me on the street for directions -- no matter what city it is...) I've been kicking around the idea of putting up this unofficial how-to group for people to share their helpful hints, and I finally decided to do it tonight. What the heck.
I'm not the best group monitor in the world, but I'll try to keep things moving around here. Hopefully, other people have more tips & ideas than me. Knowing HLG people as I do, I'm sure they'll probably chime in now and then... If nothing happens here, c'est la vie.
I'll start off with some of what I wrote back to Ms. X:
I think it's both. More in some ways. One of the good things about the site is that you can do as much as you feel comfortable doing.
You can just use it to find out what's going on. Or you can see what other people are interested in, then find out if people want to meet up. There's the comments ability on the event to leave a message like 'Hey, does anyone want to meet up?' If you feel like it, you could send a private message to one (or some) of the people that are also interested...
While not a 'dating site', I feel like it's a great place for people with common interests to meet. Whether you become friends or more is up to those involved. Approach stuff around here casually. It's a bit of an icebreaker if I recognize someone at an event from their picture and say 'hello'. If you're new here, then you might not know that HeyLetsGo occasionally throws parties for users to meet in person.
Join groups that correspond to your interests. Some are more active than others, but that's up to you. Go ahead and talk about upcoming events or whatever...
I've heard of people using the groups and the event feature to coordinate with friends or other groups. There's no strings attached to joining, so you and your friends could possibly use the site like a multi-functional Evite- or YahooGroups- substitute.
(More later, right? haha!)
