Drambuie and Myopenbar present the third installment of Cinema 16. An avant-garde New York film society originally established in 1943, Cinema 16 has recently been revived in Chicago, in a mission to celebrate and explore the experimental spirit and ambition of a bygone era.
The evening's program features a selection of short films by Czech surrealist Jan Å vankmajer, American modernist Man Ray and French filmmaker and scriptwriter Robert Enrico, each with a live soundtrack performed by music collective The Elegant Universe. Complimentary Drambuie cocktails will be served.

SMASH & CRUNCH - DROP THE LIME - FRI FEB 22 - CHICAGO + -
I LOVE SMASH&CRUNCH
FEATURING
DROP THE LIME (TROUBLE&BASS, INSTITUBES, NYC)
Rowdy and bout it is only one of the ways to describe one of NYC's most distinctive exports, Luca Venezia, aka Drop The Lime, 26, is always one tequila shot away from mayhem, rising to iconic status in the global breakcore scene (via labels like Ambush, Brooklyn Beats, and Peace Off) before dropping his 2005 debut, This Means Forever, on Tigerbeat6. Since then, he's kick started New York's first grime parties (Bangers & Mash), played live at festivals (and house parties) all over the world, started the Trouble & Bass crew and label, and released his sophomore record, We Never Sleep, which takes growling bass, grime attitude, gripping vocals (by DTL himself), and sunrises at 6 a.m. as it's mission statement. Did we mention he's been producing since he was 17? As if this charming bass fiend isn't busy enough,he also signed to France's groundbreaking Institubes label (as Curses!).
VYLE - LIVE PERFORMANCE

One of URB Magazines Next 100 For 2006 and one of the "New Faces Of Chicago Hip-Hop" by UR Magazine,Chicago(along with Shawnna, Lupe Fiasco and Kid Sister). Through his travels he has collaborated with Surkin (Institubes), Sinden (Solid Groove), Radioclit, A-Trak (Audio Research), High Priest (Airborn Audio), DJ Orgasmic (TTC, Big Dada), Arcsin (Definitive Jux), Bigg Jus (Ex-Company Flow), and works closely with Kid Sister and DJ Crew Flosstradamus.

The Drambuie Pursuit + -
Party-goers will have the opportunity to sign up for the ultimate adventure: The Drambuie Pursuit, an all-expenses-paid race across Scotland in April 2008. The Pursuit is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that retraces the legendary origins of Drambuie in 1745, when a zealous Scottish prince fled from captivity across the Highlands, imparting the secret recipe for Drambuie to a clan chieftan. 300 years later, the secret is still intact, but the drink is known world-wide.
The evening's entertainment comes direct from New York via MCs Andrew Andrew, live performances from such NYC notables as The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players and Gabriel Kahane. Add to this the novel cocktails mixed up by Drambuie, plus a parting gift bag bursting with goodies from your favorite Chicago businesses, and Myopenbar guarantees everyone a rip-roarin' good time.
Free with RSVP to myopenbar.com/drambuie.
