The cool thing about working in travel is you’re encountering people at their best. Nobody who books a $300 roundtrip flight to Japan is having a bad day.

Tell us about you! (Where are you from, hobbies/interests, things you do outside of work!)

I have a couple of young kids, so most of my non-work time is spent on excavator hunts or makeup sittings. I try to impart on them some of my own personal joys (playing soccer and pickleball, baking, riding bikes, insufferable foodie outings, plane-spotting, of course), but most of the time, we end up back at the playground.

What does a Founder do anyway?

Being a founder is fun because your role is always changing. Over the years at Going, I've been everything from an amateur programmer to a travel expert, a book author, and a professional pants model (true story!). And, of course, lots and lots of cheap flight searching. These days I spend a good chunk of my time as a cheap flight evangelist—talking about flights with the media, getting to go on shows like Good Morning America and Live with Kelly and Mark, and my favorite part, answering travel questions from Going members.

What's your favorite thing about your role here at Going?

Getting to hear about the trips people are taking. And the feeling of having helped make those trips happen. The cool thing about working in travel is you’re encountering people at their best. Nobody who books a $300 roundtrip flight to Japan is having a bad day. Airfare is the most confusing and volatile purchase we make, but it’s also something that’s required for most trips. The great part of my job here is helping people navigate that situation and help people take more vacations.

What's one thing you wish you knew when you first started working at Going?

That being a professional cheap flight finder is a real job and one you can do for a decade and counting!

What's the best Going deal you've ever booked?

$130 nonstop roundtrip from NYC to Milan on United (including free seats and checked bags).

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
